Ballinger is completed! This is my first completed piece of artwork using the ArtGraf Graphite Watercolor. I absolutely love this stuff!
Obviously I love black and white more than color...blame it on my first passion black and white photography...the ArtGraf Graphite allows me to paint in black and white. When dry the graphite has a metallic glint when light reflects off of the surface adding a cool textural element.
I will be experimenting with paper surfaces in the future. The Arches cold press paper has a rough tooth texture that was aggravating at times when trying to lay in the darkest tones. The graphite was "grabbing" the surface too much.
Also when laying down a wash of the graphite the texture became too grabby as well. I will be trying Arches Hot Press paper next.
